Active DBG: Brave’s Rage (v1.00)

A kingdom already fraying at the edges loses both its Ancient Dragon and its Princess, leaving a band of unlikely heroes to deal with the fallout. Active DBG: Brave’s Rage blends roguelite deckbuilding with the pressure of classic active-time JRPG battles, so every encounter feels less like a turn-based puzzle and more like a frantic duel of judgment and reflexes. Its tone is colorful and adventurous, but the combat has little patience for sloppy play: enemies keep moving, attacks demand answers, and a strong deck alone never guarantees survival.

Battles revolve around drawing and playing cards while action gauges continue to fill for both sides. Attacking, defending, chaining effects, and saving resources for powerful MAX techniques all matter, while the bullet-time feature slows the fight down long enough to make a critical block, counter, or combo play without turning the whole system into conventional turn-based combat. Runs send players through variable quests and events, gradually adding cards, upgrades, and new tactical options as threats become more demanding. A second Brave can be recruited at the Tavern, creating two-character teams whose complementary decks and abilities are often the key to surviving difficult encounters.

The nine playable Braves are the real draw, since each has a separate deck identity and combat rhythm rather than feeling like a minor stat variation; the Princess, Explorer Evra, Lord Don Qui, and Protector Sancho all broaden the available approaches. Unlockable alter-egos further remix established characters, encouraging repeated runs even after players find a favorite pairing. Players who enjoy the card synergies of Slay the Spire but want more immediate timing demands will find a distinctive hybrid here, though newcomers should expect a sharp learning curve before the system clicks.
