General Questions
What is SteamUnlocked? Is it safe?
SteamUnlocked is the original pre-installed PC game site, running since 2018. Every file in our library of 22,000+ games is tested and clean before it goes live.
All downloads are hosted exclusively on UploadHaven — no shady third-party mirrors. You can browse our full catalog at All Games (A–Z) or check what's trending on the Trending page.
What makes SteamUnlocked so special?
We pioneered the pre-installed format — ready-to-play zipped games instead of bulky .ISO files and separate cracks. No setup wizards, no confusing install steps. Just extract and play.
Today we maintain 99.999% link uptime — meaning no broken downloads, no multi-part archives, and no wasted time. SteamUnlocked remains the world's #1 destination for free pre-installed games.
What does "pre-installed" mean?
It means the game is ready to play immediately. No installer, no setup wizard, no crack to apply. Just:
- Download the
.zipfile - Extract it with 7-Zip
- Run the
.exeand play
How do I download and update games?
We recommend using Free Download Manager for faster, more reliable downloads.
- Find the game on SteamUnlocked
- Click the UploadHaven download link
- Wait for the timer, then click Download
- Extract the
.zipand play
To update a game, download the latest version from its page. Back up your save files first — they're usually in AppData or the game folder itself.
Check our Recently Updated page to see what's been refreshed this week.
Why is my file an .ISO or .EXE instead of .ZIP?
SteamUnlocked files are always .zip files. If you downloaded an .iso or .exe, delete it immediately and try again — only click the button that matches the game title and file size shown on SteamUnlocked.
Why is my download slow or the ZIP corrupt?
Try these fixes:
- Use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi
- Don't download multiple games at once
- Use Free Download Manager for better stability
- Extract with 7-Zip — not WinRAR or Windows built-in
If the ZIP still shows as corrupt, re-download the file — your connection may have dropped mid-transfer.
Can I play these games online?
Most games are offline-only. Games that support local/couch co-op will work with controllers on the same PC. Online multiplayer servers are not available for cracked games unless specifically noted in the post.
Check out our Local Co-Op & Couch Games collection for titles you can play with friends locally.
Do these games work on Steam Deck?
Many of them do! We maintain a dedicated Steam Deck Compatible Games collection with over 11,000 verified and playable titles. These games have been tested by Valve and confirmed to work on the Steam Deck handheld.
The collection includes both Deck Verified (works perfectly out of the box) and Deck Playable (works with minor adjustments) titles. Browse the full list to find games for your Deck.
Where can I request games or updates?
We take requests! Use these pages:
Our team reviews requests regularly and adds the most-requested titles first. You can also browse our Collections to discover curated game lists.
How often do you add new games?
We add new games and updates daily. Check the Recently Updated page to see what was added or refreshed this week, or visit Trending to see what's popular right now.
Why did SteamUnlocked move from .NET to .ORG?
We moved to SteamUnlocked.org for improved stability, performance, and independence. The .org domain is now our permanent home — fully supported and actively maintained.
All .net links automatically redirect here. If you have old bookmarks, update them to steamunlocked.org.
Is SteamUnlocked.org the official website?
steamunlocked.orgYes — SteamUnlocked.org is the only official site. Any other domain claiming to be SteamUnlocked is a fake or clone. Do not download from unofficial sites.
Troubleshooting & Fixes
Why does my antivirus flag the game as a virus?
To avoid issues:
- Temporarily disable your antivirus and Windows Defender before downloading
- Extract the
.zipfile - Run the game to confirm it works
- Re-enable your antivirus afterward
If the game was already removed, check your Windows Defender quarantine vault and restore the flagged file.
Getting missing .DLL or system file errors?
Missing DLL errors mean your system is missing required runtime libraries. Fix it in two steps:
- Open the game folder and look for a
_CommonRedistorRedistfolder — install everything inside (DirectX, Visual C++, .NET) - Install the All-in-One Visual C++ Redistributable Pack: Download here
This fixes the vast majority of DLL errors including MSVCP140.dll, VCRUNTIME140.dll, and XINPUT1_3.dll.
How do I fix errors when launching or saving the game?
Most launch and save errors are caused by permissions. Try this:
- Right-click the game's
.exefile - Select "Run as Administrator"
- If the game still won't save, move it out of
Program Filesto a folder likeC:\Games
Also make sure you've installed the required redistributables from the _CommonRedist folder inside the game directory.
Hotlink Protection Error?
This error means the download link wasn't accessed directly from SteamUnlocked. Common causes:
- You copy-pasted the UploadHaven link into a new tab
- You clicked the link from an external site (not SteamUnlocked)
- An ad blocker or privacy extension is stripping the referrer header
Why is my file an .ISO or .EXE instead of .ZIP?
SteamUnlocked games are always .zip files. Delete any .iso or .exe you downloaded and try again — only click the button that matches the game title and file size listed on the page.
