Cute amphibians carrying absurdly oversized firearms provide the joke, but the action underneath is a demanding twin-stick roguelite. AK-xolotl: Together throws its heavily armed axolotls into colorful, hostile biomes packed with swarming enemies, lethal hazards, and bosses that lean hard into cartoon grotesquerie. The mood is playful and noisy rather than grim, yet a run can collapse quickly when the screen fills with projectiles and charging creatures. It is built around the satisfying contrast of adorable pixel-art heroes and rapid, violent arcade combat.

Runs revolve around blasting through randomly assembled areas, scavenging weapons and item combinations, and choosing how aggressively to push toward the next encounter.
