Its vision of turn-of-the-century progress is especially memorable: vast pistons, processing lines, and red-lit tunnels turn industry itself into a monstrous religious ritual. The story asks uncomfortable questions about class, sacrifice, empire, and whether a better future can be built through cruelty, though its linear structure and lighter mechanical depth may disappoint players seeking the more systemic tension of The Dark Descent.
