War-torn Earth and its struggling off-world colonies face a new threat when hostile forces arrive from deep space, leaving an elite mechanized squadron as humanity’s last line of defense. Assault Suit Leynos revives a 16-bit cult favorite as a demanding side-scrolling mech shooter with sharp HD artwork, heavier sound design, and a proudly old-school attitude toward challenge. Its tone is military sci-fi rather than flashy anime heroics: missions feel like desperate operations fought amid ruined cities, orbital installations, and alien war machines. The result is a compact, focused campaign built around the satisfaction of piloting a lumbering weapon platform through overwhelming odds.

Each of the eight stages places players in control of an Assault Suit, a customizable combat mech armed with firearms, missiles, grenades, and specialized equipment.
