Planet X13 turns the usual alien-invasion fantasy on its head by casting humanity as the loud, greedy occupier that needs to be removed. Attack Of The Earthlings is a single-player tactical strategy game with a darkly comic edge, built around an interstellar energy company that tears through alien worlds in pursuit of profit. Galactoil’s employees arrive with drills, weapons, corporate slogans, and little concern for the creatures already living there. Their mistake is assuming the planet’s insectoid Swarmers are harmless.

Missions play out through turn-based movement, stealthy positioning, ambushes, and carefully timed use of each alien’s abilities. You begin with a small swarm, stalk isolated human workers through industrial compounds, and consume fallen enemies to create or strengthen new units. Different Swarmer types fill distinct tactical roles, from fast scouts and sneaky infiltrators to tougher close-range killers, while captured biomass feeds upgrades and evolution choices between encounters. Combat rewards patience more than brute force: staying hidden, picking off stragglers, and denying the humans a clean shot often matters more than simply rushing their fortified positions.

Its best idea is the reversal of perspective, letting players become the supposedly monstrous natives defending their ecosystem from corporate exploitation. The alien designs, chunky animations, and exaggerated Galactoil briefings give the campaign a playful B-movie science-fiction tone without losing the satisfaction of a well-planned tactical kill. Levels are compact rather than sprawling, keeping the focus on environmental routes, vision cones, enemy patrols, and finding the right moment to reveal the swarm. Fans of XCOM-style turn-based encounters who want more stealth, fewer overwhelming systems, and a sharply silly premise should find Attack Of The Earthlings an approachable, entertaining change of sides.
