Game Overview

A lonely overnight cleaning shift becomes a paranoid puzzle-horror run through TentaTeq, Inc., a corporate headquarters that seems far too large, too quiet, and far too alive. BroomSweeper turns the familiar logic of Minesweeper into a tense roguelite survival challenge, where each patch of filthy office floor may hide either useful information or a vicious dust creature. Its deliberately grimy 90s pixel presentation gives cubicles, supply closets, and industrial corridors a suitably strange personality, while the mounting sense that management is concealing something nasty keeps the mood unsettling rather than purely comedic.

Every floor asks you to sweep tiles, read numerical clues, flag danger with caution signs, and decide how much risk is worth taking to clear a route. Misjudging the board can unleash hostile dust bunnies and other supernatural problems, shifting the pace from careful deduction to desperate damage control. Vending machines stock the janitor cart with unusual tools and consumable items, while boss victories grant keys that unlock major abilities and reshape future runs. Five playable characters and 20 ascension levels provide different approaches and steadily tougher conditions, so learning the rules matters as much as reacting to a bad reveal.

The clever part is how it treats Minesweeper knowledge as a combat resource instead of leaving it as a detached puzzle layer. Hazardous materials, item combinations, evolving character builds, and seven bosses mean that a safe-looking board can still demand improvisation, particularly once higher difficulties start adding complications. More than 100 items give repeated attempts plenty of room for experimentation, and the office setting makes a refreshingly odd alternative to the usual dungeon crawl. Players who enjoy the deduction of Minesweeper, the build variety of roguelites such as Slay the Spire, or offbeat indie horror should find plenty to like; newcomers can learn its basics quickly, but veterans have the ascension ladder to master.

How do I fix missing DLL errors for BroomSweeper (v1.2.0.3)?

After extracting BroomSweeper (v1.2.0.3), navigate to the _Redist or _CommonRedist folder inside the game directory and install DirectX, Vcredist, and any other dependencies included.

What should I do if the downloaded file is corrupted?

The full archive is 301.67 MB — make sure your download completed fully before extracting. Use 7-Zip to extract the files. If you still see a "file corrupted" error, re-download and try again.

Why should I run the game as administrator?

Right-click the game executable and select "Run as Administrator" to avoid save file issues and permission errors. This is especially important on the first launch.

How do I update my GPU drivers for this game?

BroomSweeper (v1.2.0.3) requires a Steam Deck or equivalent. Update your NVIDIA or AMD drivers to the latest version for the best performance.

The game won't launch — what should I try?

Try running in compatibility mode, install the latest DirectX runtime, or install the All-in-One VC Redist Package.

My antivirus is blocking the game — is it safe?

Antivirus false positives are common with pre-installed games. Temporarily pause your antivirus during extraction to prevent it from quarantining game files. You can re-enable it after the extraction completes.
