Set after a fallen galactic regime leaves three competing powers to exploit the frontier, the campaign follows your corps through the volatile Centersea Sector, where revolutionaries, official fleets, pirates, and opportunists all fight for influence. The tone is political and militaristic rather than heroic, with shifting loyalties, competing ideals, and plenty of room to pursue profit over principle. Every contract carries consequences, so the war’s outcome feels tied to your decisions instead of a fixed storyline.

Commanding the corps means travelling the sector map, visiting mission hubs, accepting narrative jobs, and choosing which major battles deserve your support. Combat plays out as turn-based tactical warfare across space and planetary maps, using a broad roster of vessels and machines: warships, fighters, artillery, submarines, mechs, titans, robots, and more. Positioning matters because units bring specialized actions beyond straightforward attacks, including cloaking, mine deployment, fog effects, boarding or seizure tactics, ramming, shields, force fields, and theft. Recruiting characters, improving equipment, researching systems, and building your organization’s reputation expands tactical options; reaching nine stars before 30/12/C.E.29 is also essential for accessing the decisive final confrontation and avoiding an early bad conclusion.

Its greatest strength is scale delivered through a deliberately retro, solo-developed package. More than a hundred named figures—officers, merchants, scientists, aliens, psychics, pirates, and rivals—have distinct affiliations, talents, stories, and battlefield uses, while faction alliances can eventually let you influence larger strategic decisions. The mix of campaign management, branching political choices, and highly specific unit abilities gives it a feel somewhere between Super Robot Wars, Advance Wars, and a lightweight grand-strategy war game. Players who enjoy learning intricate systems and replaying campaigns to see different alliances and endings will find plenty to dig into, while newcomers should expect a demanding but rewarding tactical experience.
