Game Overview

Chip McCallahan returns to a world where every floor tile can be a trap, tool, or route to the exit. Set decades after the original puzzle adventure, Chip’s Challenge 2 reunites Chip and Melinda for a new tournament of compact, increasingly devious brainteasers designed by the Puzzle Master. Its cheerful pixel-art presentation and playful monsters hide a demanding logic game built around careful planning, timing, and the occasional painful restart.

Each level asks you to collect enough computer chips to open the escape route while navigating locked doors, colored keys, force floors, teleporters, water, fire, moving blocks, and hostile creatures. Chip and Melinda can both be controlled in puzzles that require coordinating their positions, using one character to hold a route open or send the other toward a separate objective. The sequel expands the original formula with dozens of fresh hazards, abilities, and interactive objects, making later stages feel less like simple mazes and more like miniature machines that must be understood piece by piece. Failure often comes quickly, but levels are short enough that experimentation becomes part of the appeal rather than a major punishment.

What makes the sequel memorable is how much variety it finds in a simple grid-based ruleset: one challenge may demand quick movement through enemy patrols, while the next hinges on reading a chain reaction several moves ahead. Its 200-level campaign offers a substantial climb from approachable introductory rooms to puzzles aimed squarely at genre specialists, with plenty of secrets and alternate solutions to encourage replaying. Fans of the first Chip’s Challenge, Boulder Dash-style problem solving, or the methodical logic of Sokoban should feel immediately at home. Newcomers can enjoy its early stages, but patience and a willingness to learn through mistakes matter far more than reflexes.
