Players follow field agent Katya Kozlova and hacker Martin Symborski as their investigation moves through guarded facilities across Europe and North America. The mood is tense, methodical, and knowingly old-school: guns exist, but being seen usually means the plan has already gone wrong.

Missions revolve around infiltrating secured spaces, studying patrol routes, evading cameras, quietly disabling threats, and reaching objectives without leaving a disastrous trail behind. Katya handles the physical side of the operation, slipping through shadows and using stealth tools, while Martin attacks networks, hijacks security systems, opens routes, and causes distractions from his remote interface. In asymmetrical co-op, one person controls each role, creating a strong communication-driven rhythm where the hacker watches cameras and guides the infiltrator through danger; solo players can switch between their responsibilities. Checkpoint conversations also add a social-engineering layer, asking players to bluff, manipulate, and choose believable responses rather than relying only on lockpicks or takedowns.

Clandestine stands apart by treating hacking as a tactical partner to stealth instead of a detached minigame. Cameras, lights, doors, alarms, and enemy information become tools to manipulate, giving coordinated players several ways to solve the same security problem. Its campaign also reacts to evidence left behind and bodies accumulated, so a clean operation feels meaningfully different from a chaotic extraction. Fans of Splinter Cell-style patience, co-op coordination, and grounded conspiracy stories will find plenty to like, especially if they want a slower, less forgiving alternative to action-heavy stealth games.
