Zenozoik is a hostile, surreal land where punk-fantasy tribes, grotesque wildlife, and impossible rock formations make every route feel unfamiliar. You play Pseudo, an isolated martial artist who becomes guardian to the Boy, a small being whose strange gift draws the attention of the formidable Gemini and her followers. What begins as a protective journey becomes a broader conflict involving ancient powers and the bizarre traditions governing this world. Clash: Artifacts of Chaos carries a rough, dreamlike mood, balancing quiet travel through alien scenery with sudden, brutal confrontations.

Combat revolves around Pseudo’s fists, movement, and ability to read an opponent’s rhythm. You dodge heavy swings, block and parry incoming attacks, stagger enemies, and capitalize on openings with punishing special moves; a first-person stance also lets Pseudo perform distinctive techniques at close range. Different martial arts styles are unlocked over the course of the adventure, allowing you to swap approaches according to enemy behavior or personal preference, while earned upgrades improve attributes and expand your offensive options. Before many fights, the Ritual lets both sides stake artifacts in a dice-based contest that can alter the coming battle with unusual conditions, creating a tactical gamble before the first punch lands.

Its greatest strength is the setting’s complete lack of conventional fantasy polish: characters look strange, cultures follow their own logic, and even peaceful locations carry an uneasy edge. The hand-to-hand system feels more deliberate than a typical action brawler, demanding timing and positioning instead of mindless button mashing, although repeated encounters can test players who dislike learning enemy patterns.
