Kiev becomes a warped battlefield after a catastrophic dimensional rupture transforms much of Ukraine into a lethal exclusion zone. Collapse casts you as Rodan, a hardened survivor pushing through streets and ruins where mutants, armed factions, and paranormal forces follow rules no one fully understands. Its tone is firmly early-2000s dark sci-fi: grim industrial environments, conspiratorial characters, and a story built around the aftermath of an event too vast for ordinary people to explain.

Combat drives nearly every encounter, blending third-person shooting with close-range hack-and-slash action. Rodan switches between firearms and a varied melee arsenal, including dual blades, heavier one-handed and two-handed weapons, and unusual hybrid tools designed for crowd control. Attacks are built around flashy chained strikes, evasive movement, and context-sensitive finishing actions, while major enemies demand more than simple button mashing. Boss fights lean into cinematic quick-command sequences, asking for timed inputs during spectacular confrontations and giving the campaign a distinctly arcade-action rhythm.

What makes Collapse memorable is its unusual setting: rather than another generic post-apocalypse, it brings supernatural catastrophe to a recognizable Eastern European cityscape. The combat animation aims for a grounded martial-arts feel even when Rodan is carving through grotesque creatures, creating a mix of practical weapon handling and exaggerated action-game spectacle. Narrative progression gradually reveals competing motives among the people inside and around the zone, so the campaign has more personality than a pure monster-slaying gauntlet. Fans of older third-person action games such as Devil May Cry, Blade of Darkness, or early console-era shooters should find plenty to appreciate, especially if they enjoy rough-edged cult games with ambitious ideas and a moody setting.
