A fortified city in the Hyborian Age faces an endless test of nerve, planning, and brute force. Conan Unconquered turns the Conan setting into a survival real-time strategy game where every quiet moment serves as preparation for the next invasion. Thugra Khotan’s forces close in on Khoraja with soldiers, beasts, and supernatural threats, while a once-complacent population must be rallied into a functioning war machine. The mood is grim, pressured, and proudly pulpy: stone walls, burning siege engines, monstrous attackers, and heroes cutting through chaos at the gates.

Players gather resources, erect production buildings, research upgrades, and shape a defensive settlement capable of surviving increasingly punishing waves. Strongholds need more than a large army; walls, towers, choke points, healing, food supplies, and sensible building placement all matter when attackers begin tearing through weak sections of the line. One of four heroes, including Conan, joins the defense with distinct combat abilities and can venture beyond the settlement to uncover resources, fight threats, and complete objectives before returning to support the main battle. Random map generation changes resource locations and terrain from run to run, while escalating pressure means a successful early build rarely remains sufficient for long. Solo play suits methodical commanders, but cooperative multiplayer lets two players share one base and coordinate construction, armies, and hero actions.

Petroglyph brings classic RTS instincts to a format closer to a defensive endurance challenge than a traditional campaign of base-rushing. The strongest moments come from watching a carefully planned fortress withstand a siege, then scrambling to rebuild when fire, monsters, or a breached wall turns that plan into rubble. Temples add a suitably extravagant Conan twist, allowing players to call upon Mitra’s enormous avatar to stomp across the battlefield when conventional troops are overwhelmed.
