A careless astronaut lands on a hostile alien planet after a wormhole disaster and survives by turning the environment itself into a tool. Converter is a puzzle-platforming adventure built around a strange central idea: the hero spits red pills that alter the planet’s peculiar organic-looking matter. Its lonely science-fiction setting feels playful rather than grim, but danger is always close thanks to lethal traps, precarious routes, and a damaged suit that steadily leaks oxygen. Progress carries a welcome sense of discovery as the world gradually opens beyond its initially restrictive paths.

Most of the action revolves around examining a room or stretch of terrain, then using the conversion power to shift objects, create structures, remove obstacles, and make safe routes forward. Platforming is less about pure reflexes than understanding how each object can be manipulated, although later challenges demand sharper movement and better timing. Skill orbs improve the astronaut’s capabilities, allowing stronger, more flexible solutions to puzzles that initially seem impossible. Oxygen management adds pressure without changing the game into a survival simulator; players need to move efficiently, avoid needless mistakes, and keep an eye on how much breathable air remains before pushing deeper into dangerous territory.

The strongest feature is the way its puzzle mechanics feed directly into exploration. Areas that appear unreachable early on become viable once new upgrades and better mastery of the conversion system change how players read the environment, giving the adventure a light Metroidvania-like rhythm. Rather than delivering a huge empty sandbox, the open-world element is built from interconnected puzzle spaces packed with optional routes, hidden rewards, and increasingly elaborate obstacles. Fans of Portal-style environmental problem solving, quirky indie sci-fi, and exploratory platformers should find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers benefit from the gradual introduction of its unusual rules.
