Game Overview
A witch trial becomes the spark for a bloody supernatural revenge story in this fast, vicious retro FPS. Set in an alternate version of the 1600s, COVEN follows a young woman condemned and burned for crimes she does not commit, only to return from death under the influence of an unknown power. Her hunt for the people responsible rapidly outgrows one historical village, pushing through haunted forests, ruined temples, and stranger locations that bend time itself. The mood is grim, gory, and defiant, with old-world religious horror colliding against the aggressive momentum of a classic shooter.
Combat demands constant movement rather than cautious corner-peeking. You sprint through enemy-filled spaces, dash out of danger, slide beneath attacks, and manipulate time to create openings for weapons and magic drawn from the early modern era. Guns, blades, and supernatural abilities form an intentionally messy arsenal built for close-range brutality, while fallen enemies can become a desperate source of healing when you consume their flesh. Levels encourage looking beyond the main path for secrets and clues connected to ancient gods, and survival depends on maintaining speed, managing health, and turning every arena into a violent playground.
COVEN stands apart through its unusual blend of period weaponry, witch-hunt imagery, and high-mobility slasher combat. Its rough-edged retro presentation favors chunky action, oppressive environments, and an industrially charged soundtrack by Primeval over polished realism, making each encounter feel like a lost 1990s FPS filtered through folk horror. The currently available opening episode establishes the revenge arc, while planned episodes expand the protagonist’s pursuit into new eras and settings. Players who enjoy the movement-driven gunplay of DOOM, the dark weirdness of Blood, or fast independent shooters with a strong identity should find plenty to like, especially if they value atmosphere and aggression over restrained horror pacing.

Why should I run the game as administrator?
Right-click the game executable and select "Run as Administrator" to avoid save file issues and permission errors. This is especially important on the first launch.
How do I update my GPU drivers for this game?
The game won't launch — what should I try?
Try running in compatibility mode, install the latest DirectX runtime, or install the All-in-One VC Redist Package.
My antivirus is blocking the game — is it safe?
Antivirus false positives are common with pre-installed games. Temporarily pause your antivirus during extraction to prevent it from quarantining game files. You can re-enable it after the extraction completes.
