A tower rising through purgatory becomes the setting for a strange, candy-colored dungeon RPG about redemption, responsibility, and a group of unruly girls who may not deserve their bleak fate. As the instructor of a supernatural Reformation Program, you guide seven “delinquents” upward through the Hell Spire, hoping to earn their return to the living world. Criminal Girls: Invite Only balances a playful anime tone with a premise that gradually asks whether the girls’ supposed crimes tell the whole story. Expect exaggerated character comedy, melodramatic revelations, and a distinctly mature edge rather than a grim horror interpretation of the afterlife.

Dungeon runs revolve around navigating compact first-person labyrinths, finding treasures, handling traps, and fighting monsters in turn-based battles. Combat uses a command-selection system where the party members propose actions and you choose which suggestions to approve, making each turn partly about managing available options instead of simply picking from a fixed list. Victories grant experience and stronger skills, while equipment, elemental weaknesses, party composition, and status effects become increasingly important as the tower’s enemies toughen up. Between expeditions, motivation sequences raise the girls’ effectiveness and unlock abilities; these scenes are intentionally provocative and are likely to be the most divisive part of the package.

Its unusual battle presentation gives the game more personality than a standard dungeon crawler, even when the maze layouts and encounter structure remain deliberately old-school. Each heroine has a different combat role and personal arc, so the party develops beyond its broad anime archetypes as the story advances. The PC release also benefits from cleaner visuals and a more convenient format than its handheld origins, though players should know it contains censored content compared with some regional versions. Fans of Demon Gaze, Mary Skelter, or lighter Japanese dungeon RPGs will find a compact, character-driven adventure here, while anyone uncomfortable with sexualized “discipline” mechanics should approach it cautiously.
