A bottle washed onto Gobbo Valley’s shore sends Croc on a bright, surprisingly personal rescue quest across the mainland. The cheerful crocodile learns that his birth parents may be looking for him, while the resurrected Baron Dante plots revenge and kidnaps an inventor who knows too much. Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos is a colorful 3D platformer built around collecting, rescuing, and hopping through a storybook world that balances Saturday-morning-cartoon charm with the sometimes demanding precision of late-1990s platforming.

Croc travels between four themed villages—nautical, snowy, prehistoric, and mountain-bound—using them as hubs for more than 40 levels packed with captured Gobbos, crystals, switches, enemies, and hidden routes. The basic toolkit revolves around jumping, tail attacks, and a useful triple jump, while level-specific vehicles and rides shake up the format with minecarts, cars, speedboats, hang gliders, and aircraft. Missions range from straightforward platform courses to fetch quests, races, and boss encounters, including memorable oddballs such as a soda-obsessed squid and a pirate captain commanding skeletal crewmen. Crystals serve as currency at Swap Meet Pete’s shop, where gadgets and teleportation access make return trips and completion-focused play more convenient.

Its greatest strength is variety: each village has its own culture, music, hazards, and visual identity, so the adventure rarely stays in one mode for long. The remastered presentation preserves the exaggerated characters and chunky platforming personality of the original while making the journey more approachable for modern players.
