Trials of Fear expands the original campaign with three additional regions, a major boss encounter, extra powers, fresh music, lore-heavy conversations, cutscenes, and a secret conclusion; it also includes a more practical mouse-and-keyboard control option, although a controller remains the best fit.

What separates Dandara from most Metroidvanias is the way it makes navigation inseparable from danger.
