Dark Moon places you aboard the Mechaplex, a colossal mobile industrial platform stranded after a solar catastrophe ruins vital electronics across Earth and the Moon. Lethal solar radiation now sweeps across the landscape, so safety never means holding territory; it means staying ahead of the light. The tone is tense and bleak, with every stretch of darkness feeling like borrowed time rather than a permanent refuge.

Command revolves around keeping the Mechaplex moving while maintaining the people and machinery that make its escape possible. You send drones ahead to survey routes, locate useful minerals, and identify hazards before committing the convoy to a path, then use gathered materials to construct new modules and pursue research upgrades. Crew members bring practical strengths that improve scavenging, engineering, or travel speed, but they also have morale, personal conflicts, and limits that demand attention. Randomized terrain, events, and survivor encounters keep runs from following a fixed script, while the pressure of the approaching sunlight prevents slow, overly cautious play.
