A sun-blasted wasteland full of zombies becomes a grimly funny survival playground in DEADCRAFT, an action RPG built around turning corpses into resources. You play Reid, a foul-mouthed half-human, half-undead survivor whose infected blood gives him abilities that ordinary scavengers cannot match. The premise leans gleefully into B-movie excess: raiders, monsters, and desperate settlements all compete for scraps, while Reid can literally plant the dead and harvest useful servants. Its tone is harsh, scrappy, and knowingly absurd rather than relentlessly grim.

Combat revolves around close-range brawling with improvised weapons, from axes and pipes to power tools, alongside Reid’s increasingly potent zombie mutations. Encounters ask you to manage groups, dodge attacks, use the environment, and decide when to spend limited healing items or unleash special infected powers. Between missions, you scavenge ruined areas for supplies, craft weapons and survival gear, cook dubious meals, and maintain food and water reserves. The standout system is corpse farming: fallen enemies can become zombie laborers that gather materials, defend your base, or join Reid in battle, making every fight feed directly into progression.

DEADCRAFT distinguishes itself by merging the gathering-and-building loop of survival games with a compact, story-driven action adventure instead of an enormous sandbox. Its cel-shaded presentation, exaggerated violence, and bizarre crafting recipes give the apocalypse a distinctive low-budget horror-comedy flavor, while the choice to help settlements or bully them for supplies adds some welcome role-playing edge. The campaign rewards players who enjoy repeatedly clearing areas for materials and improving their personal undead workforce, though its combat stays more arcade-like than deeply technical. Fans of Dead Rising’s improvised weapon chaos, State of Decay’s scavenging pressure, or action RPGs with eccentric crafting systems should find plenty to enjoy, and newcomers can handle its accessible combat once they learn to balance survival needs against aggression.
