Degrees of Separation follows Ember and Rime, two figures whose opposing elemental auras reshape the landscape around them even as a mysterious barrier keeps them apart. Players guide Ember, whose warmth melts ice and affects heat-based mechanisms, and Rime, whose cold freezes water and creates routes that would otherwise be impossible. Progress comes from reading each area’s rules, switching between heroes in solo play or coordinating their actions in co-op to move objects, open paths, cross hazards, and manipulate the temperature-sensitive environment.
