Detective Bot

A malfunctioning-looking robot detective turns simple neighborhood problems into a riot of slapstick investigation. Detective Bot is a lighthearted indie co-op puzzle game built around solving mysteries that range from missing possessions to suspicious behavior, all with a deliberately silly tone. Rather than presenting noir crime drama, it treats detective work as a couch-party activity where every clue can lead to an argument, an accident, or a pile of overturned furniture. Up to four players share control of the same mechanical sleuth, with each person operating one of Detective Bot’s limbs. Moving around, grabbing objects, manipulating gadgets, and interacting with the environment therefore becomes a group exercise in communication; even walking across a room can become an unexpectedly difficult feat. Cases ask the team to question witnesses, inspect locations for evidence, and connect information on a detective board before accusing the right culprit. The shared-body control scheme is the main attraction, giving the game some of the cooperative chaos associated with titles like Octodad and Heave Ho, but with a stronger mystery-solving structure behind the jokes. Its cases encourage players to pay attention rather than merely cause havoc, while the awkward controls ensure that even a successful investigation rarely goes smoothly. Solo players can take on the challenge of controlling every limb themselves, though the game clearly shines brightest with friends gathered around one screen.
