Ekrose is a strange dream-built realm where forgotten knowledge, experiments, and personal loss shape every path forward. Diari follows Aimacra as she searches for a missing friend, but its story is not content to keep the player at arm’s length: the adventure plays with the idea of directly addressing and communicating with its heroine. The result is an indie action-platformer with an intimate, slightly surreal mood, shifting between lonely exploration, tense obstacle courses, and bursts of boss-driven intensity. Its world feels designed to surprise rather than settle into one familiar genre.

Platforming forms the backbone of the journey, demanding careful movement through increasingly elaborate rooms, hazards, and traversal challenges. Aimacra encounters environmental puzzles, combat encounters, bosses, timing-focused rhythm sections, and high-pressure “rush hour” sequences that break up the standard platforming flow. The strongest feature is its willingness to mix perspectives and ideas: Diari carries the precision and demanding room design associated with Celeste, while its exploratory mystery and challenging encounters can recall Hollow Knight without becoming a copy of either. Areas aim for distinct mechanical identities, so puzzle logic, rhythm, combat, and traversal continually reshape the pace. The player-character connection also gives the narrative a more personal angle than most platformers attempt.
