Groups raid, capture, and lose settlements without waiting for the player, potentially rising into regional powers or disappearing entirely; helping one side can therefore reshape future opportunities. Dustgrave stands apart from more scripted party RPGs by placing systemic consequences and flexible role-playing above a single authored path. Fans of the open-ended problem solving of Kenshi, the reactive reputation systems of classic Fallout, or tactical turn-based RPGs should find plenty to test here.
