A blood-soaked frontier becomes the battleground for Evil West, a third-person action adventure that welds pulpy vampire horror to the machinery, dust, and swagger of an alternate Wild West. You play Jesse Rentier, an agent of a secretive monster-hunting organization whose family has spent generations keeping America’s supernatural threats out of sight. When a vicious vampire conspiracy rises from the nation’s dark corners, pistols, dynamite, and an electrified gauntlet become the tools of a one-man extermination campaign. The mood is knowingly over-the-top: grim monsters and gore sit beside the satisfying bravado of a supernatural cowboy superhero.

Combat drives nearly every level, mixing close-range punches and parries with revolvers, rifles, shotguns, and specialized anti-vampire hardware. Jesse can launch enemies into the air, pull them close with his gauntlet, blast them apart with firearms, and chain abilities into flashy finishing sequences, while evasive movement keeps arena fights from becoming static shooting galleries. Missions move through largely linear locations full of combat encounters, occasional collectibles, and brief breaks for environmental traversal, then reward successful hunts with cash and perk points. Upgrades improve weapons, unlock new gauntlet moves, and shape a preferred approach, whether that means heavy gun damage, stronger melee pressure, or better crowd control; the full campaign also supports two-player co-op.

Its strongest idea is the way it treats Western iconography as monster-hunting equipment, turning old mines, frontier towns, railways, and industrial labs into arenas for brutal supernatural showdowns. Evil West is less an open-world RPG than a focused, old-school action campaign, with the kind of checkpoint-driven structure and upgrade loop that recalls the 2010s era of character-action shooters. The story rarely aims for subtlety, but the enemy variety, weighty combat feedback, and escalating arsenal give it a dependable arcade energy. Fans of God of War-style melee spectacle, Gears of War’s coverless shooting intensity, or the exaggerated monster action of Darksiders should find plenty to enjoy, especially with a co-op partner.
