Lylan’s polished streets hide political anxiety, repeated murder attempts, and enough strange magic to turn a simple visit into a new life. False Myth follows Rouge, an accomplished swordswoman who is arrested on arrival, saves Governor Rita Lylan from assassins, and awakens after a magical attack in an altered body. Pressed into serving as Rita’s protector—and, awkwardly, a potential political match—Rouge becomes entangled in the city’s conspiracies. The tone mixes fantasy intrigue, comedy, relationship-driven scenes, and adult-oriented material rather than treating its premise as a purely grim drama.

Most of the adventure revolves around working with Rita’s Justice Guild, taking requests from citizens, investigating suspicious events, and moving through Lylan’s distinct districts for story scenes, clues, and optional jobs. Combat uses a deck-building card system: encounters reward careful hand management, as players select cards to answer enemy actions instead of relying solely on standard turn-based commands. Dungeon expeditions take the form of board-game-like maps where every tile can trigger battles, hazards, rewards, or unusual encounters, giving each run a light element of chance and route planning. Outside combat, Rouge can fish, work restaurant shifts for money, give gifts to companions, and pursue side activities that flesh out the cast.

The strongest draw is how many genres it combines within a compact fantasy RPG structure: visual-novel storytelling, tactical card battles, social bonding, minigames, and exploratory dungeon crawling all support the central mystery. Detailed sprite animation gives fights more character than the usual static RPG Maker presentation, while the changing district quests keep Lylan feeling like a place with everyday problems as well as major threats. Players who enjoy adult fantasy RPGs with character relationships and lighter mechanical variety should find plenty to do, especially if games such as deck-building JRPGs and quest-focused visual novels appeal more than relentless action.
