Its tone is cartoonish and mischievous rather than grim, but the competition has teeth: every snack, object, and smaller rival can become part of your path to dominance. The appeal lies in watching a harmless-looking baby turn an ordinary environment into rubble.

Matches revolve around scouring the level for anything edible or destructible, then using the resulting weight and size to survive hazards and overwhelm opponents. Early on, players hunt down small treats and accessible objects, while larger targets such as vehicles become realistic meals once enough mass has been gained. Accumulated fat also acts as a resource for purchasing special abilities, giving players extra ways to attack rivals, break through obstacles, and spread damage across the arena. The constantly shifting food supply encourages aggression, since taking down a smaller baby can mean stealing the progress they have worked to build.

Destructible scenery gives each round a messy, reactive feel, as routes disappear and familiar areas become piles of debris under the heaviest player’s feet. Size progression is the central hook, creating the same escalating power fantasy found in Katamari Damacy and agar.io, but with slapstick combat and far more property damage. Fat Baby works best for players who enjoy short, loud multiplayer sessions where strategy matters less than opportunism, timing, and knowing when to bully a weaker opponent. Anyone looking for a serious competitive fighter may find its premise too silly, but fans of absurd physics-driven party games should find plenty to enjoy.
