Combat runs on turn-based battles, but success depends less on simple damage numbers than on targeting specific body parts. Exploration is open-ended: choose a character, search Prehevil in the order that suits you, recruit survivors when circumstances allow, manage healing and ammunition, and decide when running is smarter than fighting. The eight playable protagonists offer different starting tools, personal histories, and approaches to survival, encouraging repeat runs even after you learn the town’s layout. Its pixel-art presentation is enhanced by painterly backdrops that make Prehevil feel both decrepit and oddly tangible, while the soundtrack shifts from uneasy ambience to abrasive industrial horror.
