Its tone lands closer to a melancholy fairy tale than a cheerful bird adventure, with crumbling skybound regions hinting at a civilization that has already fallen. What makes Featherfall memorable is its unusually small-scale take on Souls-style design: it trades vast maps and dozens of systems for a hand-built airborne setting with a clear beginning and end. The premise has a weird, almost vulnerable charm, but the enemies and lore keep the atmosphere unsettling rather than cute. Aron’s soundtrack supports that mood, giving the isolated cloudlands a somber sense of history as players uncover what happened there.
