Battles use traditional turn-based RPG systems, with a party assembled during the journey and tactical choices centered on managing attacks, gear, recovery items, and enemy weaknesses. Progress remains focused and accessible, so players spend more time seeing new places and meeting odd personalities than grinding through repetitive encounters.

What stands out most is the unusual cultural backdrop, which trades standard medieval-fantasy kingdoms for a fictionalized Central European setting filled with Catholics, Hussites, spies, peasants, and horrors that do not belong in any historical chronicle. Its hand-painted presentation gives each location a deliberately rough, storybook-like personality, while the writing uses Pavol’s flaws to keep the stakes human beneath the stranger elements.
