Beneath the Sahara’s newly uncovered ruins, ancient Egyptian history becomes a hostile paranormal investigation where greed is usually as dangerous as the monsters. FOREWARNED casts players as archaeologists chasing the tombs of the Mejai, immortal royal protectors whose long imprisonment turns them into vengeful supernatural threats. The mood lands somewhere between a haunted-house investigation and a tense tomb-raiding expedition: every chamber may contain valuable relics, useful clues, deadly traps, or evidence that something is stalking the party. Its Egyptian setting gives the familiar co-op ghost-hunting formula a welcome change of scenery, trading suburban hallways for torchlit catacombs, burial chambers, and shifting desert ruins.

Each expedition revolves around locating the relic that once sealed a Mejai away, completing optional archaeological objectives, recovering treasure, and figuring out which cursed guardian inhabits the tomb. Players use equipment such as flashlights, cameras, compasses, radars, motion sensors, and other investigative tools to track strange activity and identify the entity while it remains in spirit form. Staying too long raises the stakes, because the Mejai can manifest physically and turn a cautious evidence-gathering run into a desperate escape. Solo players can handle the ruins themselves, while co-op groups can divide responsibilities; one person can remain at the excavation tent and relay radar readings and sensor data to teammates underground.

What makes FOREWARNED stand out is its asymmetrical team role and the way its tombs support both methodical investigation and risky treasure hunting. Gold, artifacts, lore, and task rewards provide reasons to revisit expeditions beyond simply surviving, while randomized elements keep players from memorizing every route and scare. The game shares DNA with Phasmophobia’s evidence-based deduction, but its emphasis on exploration, relic recovery, and Egyptian mythology gives it a more adventurous edge. It suits horror fans who enjoy communicating under pressure, though newcomers should expect a learning curve as they sort out tools, entity behavior, and when it is wiser to leave with the loot than gamble on one more room.
