The tone balances energetic anime spectacle with the playful character flavor Touhou fans expect, but combat remains demanding enough to make every encounter matter. Its compact adventure structure keeps the focus on movement, boss fights, and mastering Suika’s unusual toolkit rather than endless dialogue or grinding.

Combat revolves around building Density and Sparseness charges, then spending them to alter the properties of Suika’s attacks. Dense attacks hit with extra force and support aggressive play, while sparse attacks help create openings and control the battlefield, giving simple button combos more tactical depth than they first appear to have. Suika can also compress herself into a high-speed dash and fire a projectile that lets her warp to its landing point, making traversal as important as fighting.
