Victory depends on assembling synergies between a Hero’s deck and its recruitable units, then spending resources to upgrade the spirits that carry a build through increasingly dangerous encounters. Relics provide the familiar run-warping bonuses deckbuilding fans expect, while branching choices can trade health, gold, or safety for potentially powerful rewards.

Its most appealing trick is the balance between planning and reaction: positioning resembles an autobattler, card play recalls Slay the Spire, and pausing keeps the action readable even when several units clash at once. Different Heroes bring distinct cards, troops, and strategic priorities, so unlocking them meaningfully expands the range of viable tactics instead of merely adding cosmetic variety. Procedural routes, unpredictable relic combinations, and event decisions make failed expeditions useful learning experiences rather than wasted time.
