Marines capture points and occupy defensive structures, Warthogs harass infantry, Scorpions anchor assaults, while Covenant units bring shields, plasma fire, and their own specialized answers. Each faction leader provides a distinct playstyle and unlockable powers, such as healing fields, bombardments, or devastating late-game support abilities, giving players reasons to adapt their build order. A story-driven campaign, solo skirmishes against AI, and competitive online battles provide the main routes through the game, while adjustable difficulty makes the campaign approachable without removing its tougher encounters.
