An abandoned village and its ruined orphanage provide the setting for a tense paranormal investigation where survival depends on more than simply finding the exit. Haunt Chaser is a co-op horror experience for up to four players, built around freeing tormented children’s spirits and driving a powerful evil from the area for good. The mood is oppressive rather than action-heavy: every dark corridor, unexplained sound, and distant presence reinforces the feeling that the hunters are being watched. Players search the orphanage and surrounding village for evidence, key items, and the clues needed to complete a banishment ritual. Paranormal-hunting equipment serves several purposes, helping the team investigate entities, uncover hidden truths, and create opportunities to evade or hide from the threat when it closes in. Progress comes from learning the map, understanding the haunting’s demands, and coordinating tasks instead of wandering into danger independently; going lone wolf is possible, but makes each encounter far more punishing. Alongside cooperative and single-player play, a 4v1 party mode lets one player control the paranormal entity while the others attempt to survive and finish their objective, turning the hunt into a more competitive mind game.

Custom match settings give Haunt Chaser more flexibility than many similar ghost-hunting games, allowing players to adjust individual entity ability cooldowns, revive limits, the haunting voice that helps monsters track hunters, and Proton Light availability. That control makes it easier to create forgiving sessions for newcomers or brutal rulesets for a regular group that wants a harder challenge. Its strongest appeal lies in the combination of investigation, ritual objectives, stealthy escapes, and asymmetric multiplayer, placing it somewhere between Phasmophobia’s equipment-driven ghost work and the frantic co-op pressure of Devour.
