Bjørn would rather avoid glorious combat, heroic death, and the crowded halls of Valhalla, which makes his afterlife especially inconvenient. Helheim Hassle is a darkly comic narrative adventure set in a cartoon Norse underworld, sharing a universe and timeline with Manual Samuel while telling a more puzzle-focused tale. After dying and landing in the very place he dreads, this reluctant Viking accepts work from the suspicious Pesto in exchange for a possible escape to the quieter realm of Helheim. The result is a cheerful, macabre road trip through mythology, bureaucracy, and absurd conversations with gods, monsters, and fellow dead people.

Play revolves around Bjørn’s unusual undead anatomy: he can remove his head, arms, torso, and legs, then use each piece independently or reconnect them in useful configurations. An arm can reach a switch, legs can cross hazards, and a detached body part can become the missing component in a machine or environmental puzzle. Fourteen compact stages deliver more than 90 puzzles, with solutions that reward paying attention to the objects, characters, and strange rules of each area rather than relying on twitch reflexes. Dialogue choices and interactions drive the journey, while the challenge stays accessible thanks to a forgiving adventure-game structure that emphasizes experimentation over punishment.
