Momentum is the real enemy in this first-person platformer, where every leap, landing, and badly timed shot can send you flying into a hazard. Impulsion turns a clean, futuristic laboratory setting into a demanding physics playground, asking you to survive a sequence of test chambers with only your reflexes and a pair of unusual force-field weapons. Its science-fiction framing stays playful rather than oppressive, with a comic edge running through the experiment-gone-wrong atmosphere. The result feels fast, cerebral, and frequently unforgiving.

Players move through 25 increasingly punishing levels by firing colored force fields onto surfaces, then using their effects to alter speed and trajectory. One field can accelerate movement while the other slows it down, letting you build enough momentum for impossible-looking jumps, soften dangerous landings, redirect moving objects, and manipulate parts of the environment. Success comes from reading a room quickly, placing shots accurately while in motion, and mastering the game’s momentum-based movement rather than merely finding an exit. Story Mode provides the main campaign and its sci-fi commentary, while Competitive and Speedrun modes push players to shave seconds off routes and compare results on online leaderboards. Difficulty rises sharply, so failure is common, but restarts are quick enough to encourage experimentation instead of making each mistake feel catastrophic.

What separates Impulsion from standard first-person puzzle games is its emphasis on movement skill: solutions are not only about knowing where to shoot, but about executing jumps and speed changes under pressure. Its sterile test environments and portal-like puzzle language invite obvious comparisons to Portal, though the pace is closer to a time-trial platformer than a dialogue-driven adventure. Levels reward route optimization and repeat runs, giving determined players plenty to chase after the initial clear. It suits fans of speedrunning, precise first-person platforming, and physics puzzles, while newcomers should expect a steep learning curve rather than a relaxed brain-teaser.
