A chaotic 1980s movie set becomes the stage for a clever puzzle-platforming comedy where every stunt can go spectacularly wrong. You alternate between calling the shots behind the camera and surviving them as Johnny Rush, an action star with no stunt double and very poor workplace safety. The tone is playful, packed with slapstick disasters, cheap special effects, and affectionate nods to the era’s biggest adventure, sci-fi, and action films. Rather than simply running from left to right, you must make the entire production function before the cameras start rolling.

Each scene begins in the Director’s Phase, where you arrange and synchronize hazards, actors, moving platforms, vehicles, and effects so their timing creates a survivable route. Positioning an object is only part of the challenge: you also need to account for its movement cycle, ensuring a boulder rolls past at the right moment or a supporting actor hits their cue before Johnny arrives. Once the set looks workable, the Action Phase puts you in control of Johnny through traditional 2D platforming, chase sequences, and genre-themed set pieces. Failure is expected, but quick rewinds keep experimentation moving, while the many exaggerated death animations turn mistakes into part of the entertainment rather than a punishment.

Its a Wrap! stands out because the puzzle solution is not merely opening a door or moving a block; it is effectively choreographing a dangerous action sequence, then proving your plan works under pressure. Every movie riff changes the visual flavor and situations, from pulpy archaeological escapades to outer-space battles, giving the campaign a deliberately varied Saturday-morning feel. The retro presentation and cartoon brutality recall old adventure games and silent-film slapstick, while the timing puzzles demand more precision than the cheerful presentation initially suggests. It suits players who enjoy the planning of games such as The Lost Vikings or Trine but want shorter, more theatrical challenge rooms, and it is especially rewarding for anyone with a soft spot for gloriously cheesy 80s blockbusters.
