Jin & Jan

Two ghostly brothers turn a simple trip across a tile-based world into a demanding exercise in planning, timing, and controlled disaster. Jin & Jan is a colorful indie puzzle adventure built around a wonderfully troublesome rule: you direct Jin normally, while Jan mirrors every move in the opposite direction. Their earlier prank splits reality into bright and shadowy halves, and restoring balance means guiding both brothers through hazards neither can ignore. The tone stays playful and approachable, but the puzzles quickly develop a sharp, almost chess-like edge.

Each level asks you to chart safe routes for two characters at once, collecting what you need, avoiding traps, and reaching goals without sending either brother into danger. Moving Jin left sends Jan right; pushing one upward pulls the other down, so a route that looks perfect for one twin can be fatal for the other. Enemy behavior adds another layer to consider, with some threats reacting instantly while others advance only when you make a move. Failure is frequent, especially in later stages, but levels are compact and restart quickly, encouraging experimentation rather than punishing it. Across 45 escalating challenges, success comes from reading the entire board before committing to even a single step.

The mirrored-control concept is the star here, turning basic movement into a constant spatial puzzle instead of relying on complicated inputs or lengthy tutorials. Bright visuals and readable layouts make it suitable for younger players and puzzle newcomers, while the increasingly tight enemy placement gives genre regulars plenty to untangle. It has the clean, one-more-try structure of Sokoban-style brainteasers, with a touch of coordinated character management reminiscent of games such as Death Squared. Jin & Jan suits anyone who enjoys compact, carefully designed logic challenges and does not mind learning through repeated, fast failures.
