A brightly colored alien wilderness turns corporate space exploration into a surprisingly funny first-person adventure. As a low-budget employee of Kindred Aerospace, you land on the largely uncharted world of AR-Y 26 with a scanner, a barely adequate gun, and a stream of deadpan messages from a company that clearly values profits over employee safety. The planet looks inviting at first, but its floating islands, toxic caverns, carnivorous plants, and bizarre wildlife steadily reveal a more mysterious purpose behind your mission. The mood balances Saturday-morning sci-fi color with gross-out humor and a playful sense of danger.

Most of the action revolves around surveying ecosystems, scanning creatures and plants, gathering resources, and using your findings to upgrade your gear. Your laser pistol handles hostile animals, while unlockable tools such as a double jump, boosted sprint, grappling capabilities, and explosive ammunition open routes that were previously out of reach. Progress follows a light Metroidvania structure: investigate a new biome, locate alien materials, print an improvement, then return to earlier areas to reach hidden caves, fuel deposits, and story objectives. Death is more inconvenient than punishing, and the game supports full online co-op, letting two players roam, fight, and poke at dangerous lifeforms together.

Its strongest feature is the planet itself, which feels dense with secrets despite the game’s relatively focused scale. Every region encourages curiosity, whether you are following an odd landmark, experimenting with an enemy’s weak point, or chasing the next equipment upgrade. The exaggerated creature designs and absurd corporate video messages give it a personality closer to High on Life’s irreverence, while its exploration rhythm recalls a lighter, more accessible take on Metroid Prime. Journey to the Savage Planet suits solo players who want an upbeat exploration shooter and co-op partners looking for a compact, comedic sci-fi expedition rather than a punishing survival game.
