An abandoned children’s camp becomes a maze of broken memories, sinister toys, and rules that turn innocent play into a fight to stay alive. Joyville 2 is a first-person horror puzzle adventure built around the contrast between a colorful fantasy of childhood and the rotting reality beneath it. Returning years after a disaster closed the camp, you search for your missing sister while piecing together the downfall of inventor Harrison Vanderbilt. The mood swings deliberately between wistful, storybook-like wonder and tense supernatural dread, making even cheerful spaces feel unsafe.

Most of the experience revolves around searching the camp, examining its environments for clues, and solving logic-based puzzles that open new routes through the mystery. A magical rabbit guides you toward memories of the past, while shifts between parallel versions of the setting reveal how the camp once looked and what it has become. Progress is driven by observation rather than brute force: players need to read visual details, connect story fragments, and react carefully when familiar mascots reveal their hostile side. Deadly games and dangerous creatures add pressure to the exploration, so the focus is not simply on uncovering keys and codes, but on surviving the consequences of what you uncover.

Its strongest idea is the collision of nostalgia with horror, using childhood games, toys, and imaginary worlds as sources of unease instead of comfort. The camp’s two-state design gives the adventure a useful visual identity, letting magical recollections feel increasingly disturbing as their connection to the tragedy becomes clearer. Sound design and environmental storytelling carry much of the tension, rewarding players who slow down to inspect rooms rather than rush from puzzle to puzzle. Fans of narrative horror in the vein of Poppy Playtime or the darker puzzle sections of Bendy should find plenty to like, especially if they prefer creepy atmosphere and mysteries over action-heavy combat.
