A vampire outbreak spreads through the streets while the sinister Dark Judges loom behind the chaos, giving the campaign a darker horror edge than the usual gang-busting patrol. The tone is proudly pulpy: grim urban dystopia, deadpan authority, and violent action delivered with the exaggerated attitude of 2000 AD.

Most missions send Dredd through packed city blocks, criminal hideouts, laboratories, and nightmarish undead-infested locations, clearing threats with the iconic Lawgiver pistol and a growing armoury of heavy weapons. Combat is not purely about killing: suspects can be ordered to surrender, disarmed, stunned, and arrested, while reckless use of force can bring penalties and force players to consider Dredd’s role as law rather than an ordinary shooter protagonist. The Lawgiver’s selectable ammunition types add welcome tactical variety, letting you switch between lethal rounds, incendiaries, ricochets, and specialist shots for different enemies. Difficulty can be demanding in crowded encounters, especially once vampires, possessed foes, and the Dark Judges begin mixing supernatural powers into traditional FPS firefights.

Its strongest feature is how thoroughly it commits to the Judge Dredd fantasy, from authoritarian street policing to bizarre future technology and grotesque comic-book villains. The arrest system is simple but distinctive, creating a different rhythm from shooters that treat every moving target as cannon fodder. Full campaign co-op over LAN lets two Judges tackle the story together, while multiplayer supports large bot-filled matches and a broad character roster drawn from the setting. Fans of older shooters such as Star Wars: Jedi Knight II or Red Faction who enjoy direct gunplay and licensed worlds will find plenty to like, though newcomers should expect early-2000s visuals, level design, and some rough edges.
