LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (v2023.05.04 & ALL DLC)

A sprawling LEGO retelling of all nine main Star Wars films, this adventure trades solemn space opera for slapstick sight gags, plastic-brick chaos, and an enormous galaxy full of familiar faces. You can begin with any trilogy, then follow reworked versions of the prequels, originals, and sequels at your own pace rather than marching through the saga in release order. Major scenes become playful interactive set pieces, with jokes constantly undercutting the drama without losing the thrill of podraces, lightsaber duels, trench runs, and massive fleet battles. The tone stays accessible and cheerful, but the scale feels far larger than earlier LEGO adaptations.

Most of your time goes into brawling through story missions, breaking scenery for studs, solving light environmental puzzles, and returning to locations with newly unlocked character abilities. Jedi deflect blaster fire and manipulate objects with the Force, blaster users gain more direct aiming and cover-based shooting, while droids, Scavengers, bounty hunters, and other classes open routes that others cannot. Combat supports simple combos, evasive moves, ranged weapons, and lightsaber techniques, making encounters more active than the button-mashing of many older LEGO games. Kyber Bricks found through missions, side activities, and free-roam exploration feed an upgrade system, while local two-player co-op lets a second player jump in for the usual family-friendly shared-screen mayhem.

Its biggest strength is sheer density: dozens of recognizable destinations, hundreds of playable characters, and a vehicle roster that ranges from tiny starfighters to ships large enough to board and investigate. Open-space travel includes optional battles, capital ships, collectibles, and bite-sized quests, giving completionists plenty to chase long after the credits roll. The more cinematic camera, modernized combat, and flexible planet-hopping make it feel closer to a light open-world action game than a simple movie tie-in. Fans of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, or Star Wars’ broadest cast will find an easy recommendation here, while newcomers get one of the most approachable ways to tour the entire Skywalker storyline.
