Combat uses turn-based positioning, so distance matters as much as damage; a crude melee weapon, a useful item, or a well-timed move can keep a monster at bay or leave you trapped in reach. Back home, recovery becomes part of the loop, letting you craft, cook, rest, and gradually turn the apartment into a refuge for allies.

Its strongest feature is the sheer variety of its grotesque enemy designs, with more than 150 individually crafted creatures that make even routine encounters feel unpredictable. The compact setting gives the game a claustrophobic identity closer to a surreal apartment-bound Resident Evil filtered through an offbeat JRPG than a sprawling open-world horror adventure. Multiple recruitable characters, optional visitors, boss fights, and several endings give repeat runs different flavors despite a relatively concise three-to-six-hour length.
