Yurushi’s glittering megacity skyline hides a brutal labor crisis, making for an unusually grim setting for a turn-based campaign. Luddite casts you as an engineer discarded by Niven Megacorporation after automation renders human workers expendable, forcing a return to the sprawling Saitama Slums. Recruited by the persuasive revolutionary Red Ludd, you join a sabotage movement determined to disrupt the machines replacing millions of people. The tone is politically charged and tense, with every act of resistance carrying the threat of corporate retaliation.

Missions revolve around using engineering knowledge to infiltrate and cripple automated systems before security measures close in. Its play combines roll-and-write decision-making with push-your-luck tension: each turn asks whether to press deeper for greater damage or leave before the operation turns disastrous. A clock constantly adds pressure, so planning routes, managing risks, and coordinating with allies matter as much as the outcome of a roll. The narrative campaign follows an original graphic novel, and players can tackle it alone, work together in co-op, or compete against one another; the flexible format even accommodates a very large group.

What separates Luddite from a standard tactical campaign is its graphic-novel presentation, illustrated through hundreds of custom art pieces that give its class-war story a distinctive comic-book identity. The premise uses real anxieties about artificial intelligence and mass unemployment, but frames them through accessible tabletop-inspired systems instead of a dense strategy simulation.
