Every battle feeds a ruthless cycle of recruitment, sacrifice, and experimentation in this turn-based roguelite RPG. Malice & Greed draws clear inspiration from monster-collecting dungeon crawlers such as Shin Megami Tensei, but gives its party-building a particularly savage edge: defeated foes can become assets, ingredients, or currency. Its ascent toward Nirvana is not a peaceful pilgrimage, but a dangerous climb through hostile encounters, shifting opportunities, and bosses powerful enough to reshape a run. The tone is darkly playful, built around the satisfaction of turning an enemy’s best trick against the next enemy in line.

Combat revolves around exploiting elemental or tactical vulnerabilities to gain extra actions, letting a well-built squad snowball into devastating turn chains. Nearly any opponent, including major bosses, can join the roster after defeat, giving each run a huge pool of possible allies and team combinations. Characters are not permanent treasures, either; unwanted recruits can be sold, while others can be butchered to pass their abilities on to more useful fighters. Sacrificing allies also fuels Demonform, a high-impact transformation that provides the power needed to survive tougher fights and clutch situations.

Runs allow considerable freedom in how the map is approached, with characters, services, events, and rewards scattered across multiple routes. That freedom comes with pressure, since advancing Emergency Bosses seize territory and make surrounding encounters more dangerous, forcing players to balance detours against urgency. Persistent resources unlock additional areas, upgrades, techniques, and strategic options, so even a failed climb expands the range of future builds.
