Combat revolves around fast hack-and-slash missions where each character uses a distinct weapon style, attack range, and combo rhythm. Its strongest appeal lies in turning Neptunia’s usual parody-heavy personality into a breezier musou-style action format. The school setting provides a fun change from the series’ standard nations and dungeons, while the film-production premise gives every mission a knowingly ridiculous excuse for mayhem. Combat lacks the depth and challenge of Dynasty Warriors at its best, and repeated zombie crowds can become monotonous, but the large playable roster keeps the action from feeling entirely samey.
