A remote space station turns into a locked-down killing ground when a system failure leaves Zed stranded among hostile machines and armed threats. Meltdown is a top-down tactical arcade shooter that balances brisk twin-stick action with the small-scale tension of clearing rooms, surviving ambushes, and hunting for better gear. Its sci-fi setting is clean, industrial, and suitably claustrophobic, while the overall mood stays more energetic than horror-driven. Missions move quickly, but the constant risk of getting surrounded gives every corridor and arena a practical combat purpose.

Players guide Zed through procedurally assembled missions, blasting enemies, collecting dropped equipment, and earning experience to strengthen a chosen combat role. Specialist, Soldier, and Medic classes encourage different approaches, whether you favor technical tools, raw firepower, or team support, while weapon and loot upgrades let builds evolve across repeated runs. The game supports solo play, local co-op, and online cross-platform matches for up to four players, with cooperative missions and competitive PvP available alongside the main campaign. Randomized layouts, wave-based arena challenges, three major boss encounters, and a Prestige mode add reasons to return after the standard missions are complete.

Meltdown stands out by making its arcade shooting feel more deliberate than a simple run-and-gun brawl; positioning, class synergy, and equipment choices matter, especially with friends. It has the accessible overhead perspective of games such as Alien Swarm, but its RPG-style leveling and loot chase give it a more personal sense of progression. VR support is an unusual extra for a game of its scale, though the core appeal remains its straightforward co-op firefights.
