A rusted cage in an abandoned forest house becomes the center of a tense first-person escape horror experience. Metel – Horror Escape puts you in the role of a captive who has no weapons, no real power, and no safe route through a killer’s home. Its fear comes less from chasing monsters around corridors and more from the knowledge that every disturbed object can expose your plan. The mood is bleak, claustrophobic, and deliberately unforgiving, with the maniac’s return turning even a small piece of progress into a risk.

Your goal is to search the house, solve environmental puzzles, locate useful items, and gradually create a path out without letting your captor realize what you are doing. Escaping the cage is only the beginning: doors, containers, and moved objects must be handled carefully, because the maniac inspects the area when he comes back. Players need to erase or conceal signs of their activity, then return to the cage before he notices their absence. Failure brings punishment and costs one of the limited escape attempts, while confronting the killer directly is never a viable option.

The standout mechanic is its focus on restoring the scene after each stealthy excursion, making it feel like a grim version of hide-and-seek where tidiness is survival. Rather than relying solely on jump scares, the game builds suspense through sound, timing, observation, and the pressure of knowing an open box or forgotten door can ruin everything. Four levels shift the perspective between different victims, adding fragments of backstory and new escape situations instead of simply repeating one prison-room scenario. Fans of the vulnerable stealth and puzzle structure found in games like Granny or Hello Neighbor’s darker moments should find plenty to like, especially if they prefer compact horror challenges over action-heavy survival games.
