Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a colorful side-scrolling action brawler that channels the pace and attitude of 1990s arcade cabinets, complete with hand-drawn pixel art and familiar villains pulled from across the television series. The tone stays deliberately playful, but the stakes are suitably huge: two versions of Rita Repulsa work together to erase the Rangers before the team can properly form. Remixed episodes, altered events, and a parade of monstrous foes make it feel like an affectionate alternate take on the show rather than a straightforward retelling.

Most of the action centers on classic 2D beat-’em-up combat, as players punch, kick, and use ranger abilities to clear crowds of Putty Patrollers and larger enemy threats. Stages regularly break up the brawling with arcade-style shooting sections and driving sequences, keeping the campaign from settling into a single routine for too long. Every original Dinozord is playable, adding vehicle-focused sequences that give each Ranger’s mechanical companion a chance to shine. The biggest encounters shift the scale again, placing the team in the Megazord cockpit for boss fights built around massive monsters and the series’ signature giant-robot spectacle.

Its strongest feature is how confidently it embraces the full Power Rangers fantasy instead of treating the license as background decoration. A stage can move from street-level martial arts to blaster fire, then escalate into Zord action without losing its old-school arcade rhythm. The bright sprite work, animated attacks, and deep roster of recognizable enemies reward longtime fans, while the clean premise makes it easy for newcomers to follow.
